California Pepper Tree is a deer resistant, evergreen tree with green, narrow leaflets that hang gracefully from branches. Standard tree form. Small, pale-yellow flowers in summer produce red berries. Excellent drought tolerant shade tree in Auburn, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville and Sacramento.

Grows well in a variety of well draining soil, especially in California. Feed in spring before new growth appears with a tree and shrub fertilizer. Prune in winter as needed to maintain desired shape and size.
