California poppies are a native annual that blooms in spring and fall. Choose from orange, red, and yellow. Use in flower beds, hillsides, or in wildflower gardens. Full sun, low water, deer resistant and attracts butterflies. Grows well in Auburn, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville and Sacramento.

Plant in enriched, well drained soil. Water sparingly and feed occasionally with a light, all purpose fertilizer. California poppies will reseed themselves and come back year after year.
