Celery produces tall, bunched clusters of stalks topped with green, feathered leaves. Crunchy stalks are excellent for eating fresh, in salads or cooked in soup and stews. Grows well in Auburn, Citrus Heights, Elk Grove, Folsom, Rocklin, Roseville and Sacramento.

Plant in enriched garden soil with good drainage after danger of 100° weather has passed. Plant in rows leaving 12″ of space between each row. Add fertilizer to soil before transplanting. Water early morning or late evening. Blanch or cover stalks 3-4 weeks before harvest for best quality. Harvest at about 10″ by cutting individuals or entire bunch below base.
